Dr. Karen B Hollaman
History & Education
Dr. Karen B Hollaman grew up in Northern New Jersey with her parents and two sisters. She lived an active lifestyle balancing school with sports, music, and church activities until her sophomore year of high school when her health plummeted due to a track injury. After four years of perplexed medical professionals and being told she was a “medical mystery,” Dr. Hollaman was introduced to chiropractic and quickly learned that her body responded positively to the care. The severe abdominal pain, weight loss, and exhaustion that had caused Dr. Hollaman to fall to the floor in pain, sleep over eighteen hours a day, miss much of her junior and senior year of high school, as well as drop out of college was finally responding.
It was due to the insights of her chiropractor, who used Applied Kinesiology, that Dr. Hollaman regained her health and was able to graduate from college with highest honors and move to Alaska to experience life, work in chiropractic offices, and complete the science requirements necessary for chiropractic college. She then moved to Florida to become a massage therapist and earn her doctorate at Palmer College of Chiropractic, Florida. During her schooling, Dr. Hollaman was president of the nutrition club, class representative, and attended many seminars including the 100 hour certification program in Applied Kinesiology. She also had the opportunity to travel to Madagascar with the clinic abroad program at Palmer. In December 2008, Dr. Hollaman attained her degree as well as her dream of practicing chiropractic medicine.
After being in tremendous pain for years and finally knowing what it felt like to be healthy, Dr. Hollaman wants to prevent and help others through their own health struggles. Dr. Hollaman has helped numerous people with a myriad of health conditions. As a massage therapist and chiropractor, Dr. Hollaman brings a gentle touch and understanding heart to help empower and motivate the healing process. She appreciates, empathizes and sympathizes with the patients’ perspective and treats others, as she desires to be treated. Her goal is to educate and inspire her patient’s health potential in a positive and supportive environment. Dr. Hollaman enjoys working with adults as well as children.

At a very young age, Sophie realized her immense curiosity about and intrigue with how the human body operates, leading her to believe that becoming a M.D. was her calling. After growing up in San Francisco, she went on to pursue a BS in Honors Neuroscience at the University of Michigan. There, her interests narrowed to studying not only the molecular and biomechanical aspects of the brain, but she also found a passion in studying the interplay between mental and physical health and how significant the state of one’s brain function influences the body as a whole. Since graduating, Sophie has traveled quite a lot, gone back to school for a post baccalaureate program in physics and chemistry, and was a full time yoga teacher. Through these experiences, she has unveiled more of her spiritual side and become aware of how critical lifestyle and well being are to physical health. As her curiosity was shifting towards alternative medicine, Sophie faced some of her own health adversity that left her having to choose between taking a cocktail of medications or making some radical lifestyle changes and treating her health from a more holistic, alternative perspective. She found Red Tail Wellness Centers during the thick of her own health journey and hasn’t questioned her decision to join the team for a second. Not only is she vastly interested by the science of Neurofeedback, but she has first hand experience on how affected it truly is. She is enthusiastic about her work here at RTWC and is looking forward to helping you find mental health and clarity through Neurofeedback training!

Chelsey moved to Boulder in 2018 and has never felt more at home. Having previously lived in California for eight years, she has had a variety of experiences working with kids and adolescents, in holistic health and customer service using her degree in Psychology. Chelsey first discovered her passion for integrative health when she lived at a Holistic Living Center in Southern California where she gardened weekly, participated in group meditation and worked at a compounding pharmacy. From there, her knowledge continued to grow from personal experience and her own challenges. She’s seen the drastic difference dietary changes, supplements, and stress management has made in her own life and health. She is excited to be at Redtail Wellness Centers learning more!
